The Kinnikinnick Chapter, through its members and committees undertakes a number of activities and programs that include:
- Informative Monthly Meetings featuring expert speakers and interesting topics related to native plants and their habitats.
- The operation and maintenance of the North Idaho Native Plant Arboretum at Sandpoint's Lakeview Park.
- Publication of the Kinnikinnick Journal, Kinnikinnick's newsletter that highlights events, programs and activities.
- A public celebration of Arbor Day with tours and educational programs at the Arboretum in June of each year.
- The promotion and preservation of native plants in their north Idaho habitat.
- Promoting and exploring the use of native plants in urban and rural landscaping.
- Active support for and participation in Noxious Weed Awareness Day in Bonner County.
